Of Insect and Flower...

Folks I found out that the best time to get a good image for Macro Photography is during the morning, when the sun is not that bright and the flowers has just started to bloom. It is also during this time that you would find insects busy with their activities interacting with those colorful flowers. Above is a snap that I took yesterday morning while browsing among the flowering plants near my house. Normally I would just take a glance of such flowers that bloom off and on but with that macro lens now everything became a subject of my curiosity. Now I would look closer through the lens of the camera and there I found things that I normally could not see with the naked eyes. Have a nice day. [click to enlarge]

Nice shot!
A trick that professionals use is to spary a bit of water on the flower/leaf to simulate dew. Makes the pic more interesting. Try it.

Pokku, thanks for the visit and the good words on this posting.

I do not think it is possible to spray water at that moment in time. Trying to catch that insect inaction is already a difficult and challenging task indeed. Making almost impossible to focus.

Anyway thanks for the tips. Itdoes sound interesting. Would try the next time.

Have a nice day.

that is indeed the perfect time for macro :)
one tips from some pros i have heard about; sprinkle some water onto the flower. of course, it is not suitable if you are wanting the insect to be in the frame. but, yeah. if you happen to take flowers only picture, try to sprinkle some. i'm sure it will be dramatic! :D

the detail on the bees is lost.Try to decrease the exposure and use a flash to highlight the detail of the bee.picture like this, the exposure setting is difficult to get as involved two subject of different contrast.if you take reading on the bee the flower will be overexposed .if you take reading on the flower the bee will be underexposed.Anyway good try.I had post on the same thing in my blog from my outing in cameron highland last week, check it out.photography is about trial and error .it took me almost 100 shot to get 1 satisfactory shot, sometime i got none.

Yes I know about spraying water but it would not be possible at that moment in time.

Have a nice day.

Hello Pak Idrus,

Yellow to me it's summer. It's so summer!

Do you like Hibicus? Of late, Hibicus is summer to me. I've been looking around in the nursery for this plant and not many offer this. Will you take a shot of Hibicus? Lovely red!

Regards,
YA

Anonymous, Yvonne, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on the subject of flowers.

Yes, Yellow is the color of Summer but it is not that easy to get a yellow Hibicus around here. If I find one I would surely take a snap and share it with you.

Have a nice day.
