It is a beautiful day in the month of June and we are half way already into the year 2009. Many things happen as we move along and for me life has always been beautiful. And now I am continuing that journey of life with a new tool, a Macro lens; where I could venture one more step beyond and enjoy the new world, the Micro world through that lens.
Folks, with the naked eyes we would not have notice the activities in the micro world of the plants. A world so small that we just took for granted that it is there. With an ordinary lens we get to see some but only when we look through the Macro lens that we began to enjoy the wonder of nature. Its pomp and splendor is a wonder by itself.
A few days ago I wrote about the wonder of Bunga Semalu [Mimosa] and yesterday I went to the plant again, this time behind my house and have a look again through the Macro lens. Above is what I saw. It would be just impossible to witness the insect that tiny enjoying itself on that little flower. Now I know why friends had encouraged me to go into Macro Photography. Indeed there is another world out there. Fantastic!. Have a nice day.

Salam Pak Idrus...
This is real cool photo. I want one too! I understand how you feel being able to capture all the wonders normal digital camera can't do.
So beautiful and gorgeous. Congratulations :)
alright! this is awesome!
try step the aperture down a little if you happen to get such chance again. somewhere like f/5.6-6.3 is alright, i think. it will preserve more details on the plant :)
Liza, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on the subject of this posting.
I am indeed glad that you enjoy the image posted. With the ordinary digital camera you could do so much. Only with the DSLR and now with the Macro lens could you go one step further and enjoy photography.

Awesome effort Pak Idrus, and the pic is just great! Cheers.

Actually I did not realized that I got a good shot like the one shown until I look at all the images that I took that day. Indeed it was my first experiences and I love it. I would certainly try your suggestion the next time.

This pic looks yummy. It looks like pink candy floss. The white spots on the floss looks like vanilla sprinkley. Yum! ;-)

Remember in your Masak Masak you cooked the fish ball and now it is candy floss. What an imaginative mind you got there.
The Micro world seen through the Macro lens is so colorful and I am going to venture further. Would share my adventure with all to enjoy.
Have a nice day.
Salam Pak Idrus,
Honestly, I envy you. With that macro lens, the possibilities are endless! I took some similar pictures, but the clarity of the macro lens is missing. But lets not take credit away, that is an awesome picture.
perfect!!! the bee is nicely located on the flower and the picture is sharp.i love the fact that the bee seems to be on a cotton ball due to blurry effect of the flower.no need to do adjustment as the picture is perfect.good attempt
cakapaje, thanks for the visit and the good words on this posting. I am indeed happy that you enjoy this image.
Indeed the Macro lens does made the differences. Am learning by taking baby steps to do a better job the next time.

xplorer, thanks for the visit and the good words and sharing your thoughts on this posting.
Actually the ball of flower is just the size of a ten sen coin and it is not a bee. It is a really tiny insect that could not be seen with the naked eye. It was there and I just snapped it away and found later on this is the best I did that day.
Have a nice day.
Great photo, as usual, Pak Idrus! The bunga semalu looks like a big fluffy disco ball with tiny LED lights at the end of the filaments! Some of our most disliked weeds have very beautiful flowers when we look at them closely. Too bad many people can't be bothered!

Well things that we took for granted with our naked eyes are different in the world of Macro Photography. There is a new world out there in the bushes and plants where we could enjoy and wonder and be awe with nature. It so colorful and beautiful when we get to see the happening in the micro world of the plants and insets.
Hope that my posting would bring interest to folks to takes a second look at nature.
Have a nice day.
