One more step into Photography....
OK folks I got myself another toy today. A Macro lens - Nikon AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED and am now trying my hand into Macro Photography and above are some images on my first try. Interesting Eh!. Have a nice day.
xplorer, thanks for the visit and sharing your know how on photography.
I am learning and any information and ideas would help me move forward into this new world of photography. Appreciate your comment very much. It is the little things like this that made the differences.
Bustaman, Pokku thanks for the visit and the compliments.
Well, what else should I do at this age except to explore my hobby to the fullest. I did not have that opportunity or the mean to go into serious photography when I was much younger. For a simple reason was at that time the budget was more for living and education of the kids. So now in the golden age I am doing what I wanted most to pursue my hobby with the new toy. It is getting interesting and I am enjoying it.
Pak Idrus, congrats on getting the macro lens! I am jealous! :)
The cards are stacked against us Nikon D40 and D60 users in that if we want automatic focus lenses, we have to buy the AF-S or AF-I series, which are slightly dearer because they have motors in the lenses. (Our D40 and D60 camera bodies do not...)
My next lens acquisition, subject to successful negotiations with my Better Half, will be the 35mm f1.8 lens: http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Camera-Lenses/2183/AF-S-DX-NIKKOR-35mm-f%252F1.8G.html
Pak Idrus, Got that wonder lens already? Way to go Pak! I'm sure this is another thing you want to try with that wonderful barrel of yours. Get a portrait with it. With wide aperture of f/2.8, it will work like a charm isolating the subject from the background. You'll like it, trust me :)
Howard, thanks for the visit and the compliment of me purchasing the Macro Lens.
Well it is time and I am beginning to see thing in a different perspective already. Starting with staring at nature at its best. It is another world out there through this lens.
Well, nothing come cheap nowadays but then if handle with care this toy would outlast us. I am learning to use it and reading all the material of how best to get good images. Any tips are welcome.
Akmal, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on the subject of this posting. Well, that is the way I am. When I want something I would work for it and eventually get it. The first try made me excited already and I am going to try all the possibilities with this new toy.
Akmal it was you [kid of my grandchildren generation] that trigger my thought to go into Macro Photography and now I am into it. Thanks to you. All tips as to get the best images are much appreciated and welcome.
Mohd Adib Noh, Pak Adib thanks for the visit and the compliments on this first Macro Photography shot of mine. Well I am learning and hope to get helps from folk like you.
I would love to join you on that Photo walk. Let me know when.
i had edited your picture to give a more dramatic feel towards it.i had email the edited pic to you. Please tell me your verdict. The purist in photography might not agree with me but nowadays learning how to take good picture is only part of photography, learning how to edit your photo digitally is also part of photography.
xplorer, thanks for the return visit and sharing your thoughts on the way toward good photography.
I make a point not doctored the images that I took. I prefer to see what the lens captured as it is. The only editing I did is to blow it up or to resized it for presentation.
Photography is a work of art and everyone of us have different understand of the art. Appreciate your sharing of know how on the way of good photography.
louis, thanks for the visit and the compliment of the images I took.
Well I am still at level one in a Primary school of Macro Photography and you already given me a good score. Thanks for the encouragement. I shall try to learn as I move on for at this age it takes time to learn. I may have to get the help of my grandchildren for that.
How nice it is to progress to another level. I'm still with my Canon Ixus 850 1S. Haven't used a camera so much in my entire life till I started blogging!!
Keats The Sunshine Girl, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on Photography.
Yes like you it is only when I start blogging that rekindled my interest in photography. With the Macro Lens I am beginning to see a new world through the lens. In the past I thought only the professional could do that but now I know with some ingenuity everyone can take a good image especially that of a closed up in Macro Photography.
I am still learning and any tips would help and greatly appreciated.
Pak Idrus, that is really good stuff for a first try! Excellent subjects for photography, plus you really have an eye for the unusual! You would make a great ambassador for Malaysia's flora and fauna!
~Covert_Operations'78~, Ee Lynn thanks for the visit and the good words on my adventure in Macro Photography.
I am just try to understand of how the camera works with the lens and taking baby step learning by doing. At this age it takes time to process information but I am having fun with the new toy. I am indeed happy that folks enjoy the images I posted so far. Would post more as I progress.
