A beautiful day @ Pantai Putri...

Greeting is very important to me. "Good Morning". That is how I start the morning since school days. Starting with a Good Morning greeting to our teachers and later on in life I always say Good Morning to whomever I first met in the morning. So to all the good folks everywhere; Good Morning to all. May you all have a great day. Today it is not only a good day but a beautiful day as well. Indeed a gorgeous day.

I woke up to a beautiful Saturday morning in Malacca. We had been at our second home at the Bidara Putri Beach Resort for the weekend. It has been a hot and humid day all throughout the week and that morning it has been cool. Seeing the ray of sun creeping through the window's blind I walk and open the door toward the corridor which is on the east side of the apartment and I saw the glow of the morning sun behind the small hill at the back of the condominium complex. It was a majestic sight. I took my camera and wait for it to make its appearance. As usual when we wait it takes its time to come out, the seconds and minutes seem to be rather long. I have not taken any image of the morning sun as it rises in Malacca since it is the evening sun that we normally notice at the balcony. Every time we spend the days here we would watch the sunset and making it disappearing act at the horizon on the glittering sea off the straits of Malacca. It just glows and slowly disappears beyond the horizon, at time in the multitude of color of amber, gold and at time just yellow and silver. The scenes have always not been the same and a wonderful sight to watch and wonder as evening fell to darkness.

That morning it was different. It was the sunrise that I was watching at the back of the apartment since the front of our condo face west, thus the entrance is on the east side where there are corridor that leads to all the apartments. Our apartment is on the second floor so I have just to wait to see the sun creep through the hills and bushes to made its daily appearance. Indeed it began to show its glory when it slowly rises up. It was just 7.52AM and by 8AM it brightens up with a yellow ball of fire. Indeed such a magnificent sight to watch. I aimed my camera and took as much shots as possible before it became too hot to watch. And voila! I got some fine shots and the one above show a flock of birds flying toward the northwest direction. I did not notice the birds when I took the picture but when I saw the images on the live view of the Nikon D60 I was rather amazed to see such a wonderful picture of the morning sun with those birds. It is not always that one gets the chance to get such a great image. It is just like a perfect postcard picture. What a day!

The next morning while talking to friends at the corridor of the apartment a pair of white dove flew in and perched on the railing nearby. It was really nice to see such a pure white pair of the bird. In love perhaps! enjoying the day. It was so close nearby so I thought that I should take the opportunity to immortalize the event. I went in to take my camera and by that time it has flown just a bit further but still together. I took a few snaps and sharing it here for all to enjoy. This is the first time that I saw a pair of such white dove here. There are now many doves making it nest at the corridor of the apartment and most are of the normal color of gray and dark blue but these white dove are seldom seen. They say that doves bring good luck, love and happiness to the place of its habitat or frequent. The sign of peace is always the white dove, so it was with good feeling that we get these pair of white dove here at our condominium in Malacca. Indeed a good sign for our dwelling. Now that we have the doves perching around and the sound of the sea out front, it does made the place more enchanting then before. A great place to hang out from time to time and of course enjoying life as well. Have a nice day.

Salam Pak Idrus,

How awesome that you have a house by the beach to retreat to! I love the photos. The birds you photographed are Rock Pigeons, also known as Rock Doves (Scientific name: Columba Livia Domestica).

The Rock Pigeon is often regarded as a symbol of love and fidelity because they are monogamous, mate for life and raise their young together! And we call them bird-brained?!?!?!

Best Regards,
CO78

Bustaman, Pokku thanks for the visit and the advice on photography.

Before buying the DSLR I never knew that it is so different from the normal Digital Camera. Now that I have start using it I found it to be such a wonderful gadget to take great images. The ordinary Digital Camera just could not compare with the DSLR. When you were carrying the big DSLR I was just wondering why, now I know Why. It did made better quality images.

I am still learning the trick and thanks for your quality advice.

Have a nice day.

headsteadi, thanks for the visit. Agreed that the Sunrise is much nicer to watch then the Sunset. Moreover during the Sunrise the atmosphere is usually much cooler.

Have a nice day.

Covert_Operations'78, Ee Lynn thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on the subject of the posting. And thanks too for the compliment on my kind of photography. Much appreciated. I am still learning.

Glad for the additional info on the Pigeon/Dove especially that on its culture and the scientific name. It would be really useful for those doing research.

As for the expression 'birdbrain' I think it is wrong to think that other species are not intelligent. In fact some of our species does not even have a slightest intelligent in them. So let not think that the other species which includes the bird are not intelligent. We could learn more from them, then they do from us.

Have a nice day.

Pak Idrus,

I tried to, but was unable to, leave a comment on your latest blog from Melaka (the sunrise and dove photos). I just wanted to say that you're really having great photo sessions with your new D60, and to please keep up the good work. I love seeing pictures of fellow amateur photographers! I learn something every time!

I've been meaning to send you a longer e-mail introducing myself, but have never gotten around to it. I will do so soon, hopefully in the not-too-distant future! In the meantime, I love reading your blog, even though I do not leave a comment each time!

Cheers!

Anonymous[1:19AM], thanks for the visit and the greeting as well as the kind words on my kind of blogging. I am indeed glad that you like my blogging. Your sincere thought is much appreciated. Do come over again.

To me life is to be enjoy. We are on this blue planet to enjoy its beauty, so do make hays while the sunshine. It is important to note that we are not the only species on this planet, so do give loves to all, for without the other species, the animal, the vegetation, the floral and fauna, lives on this planet would be dull indeed.

Start enjoying life when you are young and carry it on and when you reach my age you would have enjoyed life to the fullest. Have a nice day.

Thank you for your kind message, Pak Idrus.

Life is tough for many, and I do consider myself luckier than alot of people. Probably, I don't seek for much but make the best out of the little that God has allocated for me.

Sometimes when things don't go the way I want it to be, I'll just have to drop by in your territory. Voila! I became a positive thinker again. ;-)

I share the same sentiment as you afterall, life is meant for living and live we shall be and in a positive way.

Thank you for taking time to read my reply, and God bless you and your family with lots of love.

[Anonymous[1:38AM], Yvonne, A very good morning to you. Whether it is a raining day like now in Ampang Jaya or the sun shining bright, it is still a good day to me. We woke up breathing and that is already a good sign.

We start living yet another day, that is today. Today is the future of yesterday, it is the present. The present is a gift to us to live for another day, for the past has gone forever. We have been there and today is yesterday future and tomorrow is the future. It is the present that is important to us. It is a gift so makes hays while the sunshine for the the present would be with us only but for a mere seconds and then it became the past. That is why I kept telling that we must enjoy that very moment in time, the present. And Yvonne, the present is a gift and we all love Gifts. Accept the gift with all your heart and enjoy it for the present is but a few second with us and soon it would be the past. So do think positive and live lives by the day, the minutes, the seconds for we would not go that path again.

I am into seventies and happy that I have enjoyed life. Sure there are hic up along the ways, but what is life is it has no the up and down. It is that varieties that made living so very wonderful. They say the varieties is the spices of life, so be it and make it as colorful as ever and I am sure you would enjoy the day.

Yvonne do live in the present. It is a gift.

Thanks for the return visit and the kind words. Have a nice day.
