The Raya mood..

As usual the house get a face lift when the Hari Raya comes. So as usual with me I try to do something different this year to my Serambi/Patio and above are some images of the new look Serambi/Patio of our home in Ampang Jaya. My spouse and me love interior decoration and all throughout the year we would bring the interior of the our home into a sort of a new living environment. Once our home was featured in a Local Home magazine. For the Serambi as seen in the above images we have add lights to give it a festive mood. Well, tomorrow Moslem in Malaysia and all over the world would be celebrating the Eid Fitri or Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. So again SELAMAT HARI RAYA to all and do have a great time.

Hi Pak idrus,

That is a pretty comfortable and atractive serambi. With such lighting it is spectaculoar at night. You and Mrs certainly have this fabulous zest that is admirable.

Here's wishing you and family,

SELAMAT HARI RAYA.

Pak Idrus,
The Serambi looks so awesome, I wonder how the insides will look. Only superlatives will justify the description for the inside of the house.
Selamat Hari raya.

zawi, thanks fro the visit and the kind words on my humble home. The Serambi is part of my pondok which I call home for the last thirty three year. I love this pondok, so I upgrade it to a four star standard. The Serambi is loved by all who visited my humble pondok. You would have the chance to come over when you visit KL next.

Selamat Hari Raya to you and the family from Asmah and me in Ampang Jaya.

Pak Idrus,

Shows that one does not need the dubious qualifications of a YB to have a 'pondok' that looks and feels like a palace - and I'm sure you sleep much better in it too.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to you and family.

mr bojangles, thanks for the visit and that comment which made me smile with joy. My small pondok is truly my home and like you said I do sleep well every single night.

Thanks for the raya greeting and Selamat Hari Raya to you and the family too.

Lovely and cozy serambi, Pak Idrus. It reflects your interest in woodworking. I especially like the coffee table with ornate legs.

It is nice that you and your wife change the environment of your home throughout the year even though KL has no seasons. We have 4 here and I only re-decorate every Dec!

Have a joyful Hari Raya!

rita, thanks for the visit and the kind words. Yes I love woodworks. Almost all that you see in the images are done by me. It takes months but I have the time and happy with the result.

With a wife who share the same interest it do make things much easier. We both are retired and have plenty of time, so what else, now is the time to do whatever things that you cannot do when you are busy making a living and raising kids. Now it is the time to enjoy life to the fullest. Golden age do have its advantages.

Thank for the raya greeting. The same to you. Have a nice day and take care.

I've just read your Oct. 13 2004 posting and learnt that you had been serving in Sarawak in the eighties for three and a half years. Thanks for your service to my home state and hope you can come to visit Sarawak every now and then.
Wishing you and your family Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri

ikan sembilang, friend thanks for the visit and the kind works. Incidentally I love ikan Sembilang and ikan keli. To me both the fresh water as well as the one from the sea made great dish, especially if you fried with chilly.

I am indeed glad that you read my posting on Sarawak, which I often tell friends or strangers that my posting to Sarawak is the best part of my career. I did enjoy working with the good people of Sarawak. And I shall cherish it for the rest of my life. Our first grandchildren was born in Kuching, Sarawak, so we now have an Anak Sarawak in our family.

I am glad that Sarawak has move forward to become as prosperous as the other Malaysian states. I am happy to have contribute my service and thoughts to the making of a modern Sarawak.

Friend, have a nice day and feel free to visit my blog again if you could find the time. Thanks.

Has been asking me about Malaysian wood and the local woodworking trend of which I am not in the know. He would be pleased to visit with you. :)

Have a fun week!

rita, thanks for the visit and those kind words. Yes I love woodworks. After I retired I have plenty of time, thus I tried my hand of some woodworks. You need lots and lots of passion and patience to get things done. Well woods is part of my life and I have a kampong house look for my home in the city. Capturing both world in one go.
