The rain has just stop, so it is a bit cool up at the patio. My spouse and me sat at the Kopitian table and chat while having tea. For the last weeks or so it showers in the afternoon. It is nice to watch the rain and enjoy the fresh air that comes with it. So this afternoon is one of those day that the rain has brought cool weather to us folks in the city.
While we whilst the times away my spouse said to me that she saw a beautiful butterfly at one of the orchid. Without thinking much I went inside and took my camera, got it ready to shoot and went to look for the butterfly, before it fly away. It is still there enjoying it relationship with that gorgeous orchid. It seem to play dead or just enjoying itself of the nectar of the orchid, care less of its surrounding. I aimed the camera and voila!!! I got it in many positions. It is the first time that I got the images of a butterfly attached to my orchid.
Indeed a colorful event that would etched in my memory and immortalised in digital images. This scene is made possible because of my small garden of orchids and other greens which provides the environment for birds, small animals, ants and flying insects to made it their playground as well. It is a sort of an Eco system in action. Nature in miniature. Everything are in harmony to be enjoyed by all and that butterfly is having a field day enjoying the environment.
So today I got the butterfly in action there but as yet to get that elusive squirrel that frequent my little garden to have it meals of cut apples. One of these days I believe I would get a chance to immortalised it too, just like that butterfly in the images above. Enjoy and Have a nice day.

pak idrus,
I am envious of your ability to capture images of nature imteracting in your own garden. Birds has been regularly coming to bathe in my fountain and squirrels has been feeding on my ciku fruits but I failed to capture any of them on my camera.
The butterfly is a pappilion I think. Its fun to live in an environment which can attract such beautiful insects.
zawi, thanks for the visit and the compliment of my gardening adventure. Well, I think those visitors are comfortable with my little garden now and it just come and goes as it like. So when the time is ripe I get to capture its images. That squirrel still as elusive as ever. Recently it just walk pass and getting friendly. I hope to get a snap of its someday.
Thanks for giving a name to that butterfly, I am learning. BTW what about do a write up of the Ciku. Have a nice day and take care.

yup, butterflies indeed is a miraculous of creation. they do their part in the reproduction of the flowers, spreading out the beauty all around us. well, i've done some research on insects and other animal as a part of my course. they indeed are awesome.
akmal, thanks for the visit and sharing your knowledge on insects and animals. Much appreciated.
It is the exchanges of information like this that made blogging so great.
I have always love nature and enjoy living in its environment, thus my little garden, an Eco system in miniature, where insects come and goes, making life so colorful.
The plants, insects and animals are part of the Eco system and without it our species would not survived on this planet.
Have a nice day and take care.
Salam Pak Idrus,
Very tranquil to look at your pictures. Calming effect on me.
We need to embrace diversity like nature by having symbiotic relationships instead of we against them.
Wonderful to know Akmal studied insects. Wld be interesting to know the work cultures of ants and bees. They are so efficient and hardworking.
Cheers
hi&lo, thanks for the visit and the kind words of my posting. I am indeed glad that such harmonious scene of nature effect you as well. Nature always give its best to us and it is up to our species to accept that it is a very important
part of our life as well. Thus the diversity in our world is there for us to share and enjoy.
Akmal just start to blog and I am waiting to read his story of the culture of the ants and the bees. Have a nice day.
Pak Idrus,
I "stumbled" into your blog and found it to be refreshing... the orchids and butterfles and especially the backgrounder "Semalam di Malaya" really made me homesicklah... here in Dhahran, Saudi, it has never rained yet since I got here in May this year. They told me there will be rain come Nove/Dec... will make your blog one of my regulars, inshaallah. Take care & salam and belated Eid Mubarak!
dhahran sea, thanks for the visit and those kind words on my blog. I am indeed happy that you enjoy the posting.
I have live overseas before and song like this always remind us of home, home sweet home. Well life is like that. It is only when we are in a faraway land that we realized how great is our motherland.
As for the rain, here we took it for granted whereas in Saudi and other middle east countries it is a luxury.
Thanks for the Eid greeting, the same to you. Have a nice day and take care.
Dear Sir,
That was an interesting interview you gave on telly. I do visit your blog often and like the stuff you write about.
I am 26years old and I am collecting old Malay songs. This song "Semalam diMalaya" (nowadays sung as Malaysia), who was the original singer? And who was the composer? My late grandfather used to play it for us. Alas, I didn't take much interest then. He has passed away.
I saw the P.Ramlee Musical and I liked it very much and was very impressed with the production. It brought me back memories of my Tokpa (who told me about the genius of P.Ramlee.)
I am sorry I am off topic, but I do hope you can help me out with that query.
Thank you
Ariff J
ariff J, thanks for the visit and the kinds words on my blog as well as that on my views at the talk show on TV9 the other day.
I am indeed glad that you are interested in our traditional song especially that of P.Ramlee. P.Ramlee is a giant of his time and I do not think we would see another of such great artist like him in the foresee future.
As for the composer and the singer of Semalam di Malaya, I am not that sure who are they. I am looking at it now and would communicate to you in due course.
Do visit my blog from time to time or send an email to me, so that I could communicate direct to you on this subject. Have a nice day and take care.
Pak Idrus and hi&lo
Insects and other creatures has always been my interest. But i am not specifically studying on them, just taking all the knopwledge about them on books and by doing some research on the net. However, I was very lucky when I got that particular topic as the task for my presentation on one of my course.
I'll inform both of you when I have my post on the bee. I'm still editing it for this moment. Our nature seriously is very attractive.
See you at my site(",)
ariff J, Got it. The composer of Semalam di Malaya is Saiful Bahari and the Singer is S.Effendi. Have fun.
akmal, thanks for the return visit on this subject. Like you I love its all. We should acquire knowledge for knowledge give us wisdom and with that comes the quality of life.
I have bookmarked your site and would be visiting it from time to time, to learn of course. Have a nice day and take care.
Dear Pak Idrus,
Thank you for the info. May I trouble you for another question. Still on the same song: Saiful Bahari, the composer, and singer S. Effendi are (were?) they both Indonesians? What's the history of this song, do you know? When was it written? Surely, it can't be written after the "Confrontation" or the country won't be referred to as "Malaya".
Gosh, that's one question too many. Sorry.
Sorry, I was the Anon above
and forgot to sign off Ariff J.
Ariff J, thanks for the return visit. Yes both of them are Indonesian. Saiful Bahari later became Malayan and then head Filem Negara. Well this song was from another era. the British Malaya then. Have a nice day.
