Tranquility @ Fraser Hill...

Fraser Hill is one of those places that have remained as it was like its hay days during the colonial era, an excellent resort indeed. It is still in pristine condition. Although the interior of most buildings have seen changes through the years, most of the old buildings facade has remains the same. New buildings built were so designed to blend well with the surrounding. The sidewalks have been lay with new pavement.  There are many benches on the sidewalk where folks could sit and while the time away in the comfort of the summer weather. The roads are well-kept and resting sheds set up on the sidewalk for hikers or joggers to take a rest when on a walk around the countryside. Flowers are planted here and there thus adding colors to environment of the place.

If you want to enjoy peace and tranquility then get to Fraser Hill for a holiday. It is a place where you do not have to worry about the hustle and bustle of the city life. During our stay there the temperature was from 19 to 20 degree Celsius; a pleasant weather indeed to enjoy a lazy walk around the outskirt of the town or to play golf. Of course with that kind of weather and light it is a great place to do photography. I did that and enjoy seeing the result of my photography. Below are scenes of Fraser Hill little town as it were when we visited it last week from the 15th to 17th February, 2012.

Have a nice day.

Salam Pak Idrus

I love a day or two at Fraser's. Can you advise if the new 2 way road is open for use and whether facilities at The Paddock has been restored fully.

Thank you, Sir.

Noir, Thanks for the wish. I too love Faser Hill and would go there again and again just to enjoy the tranquility there.

As for the road, both ways are open now. The one near the Gap [old road] is for going up only and the other one [formerly for going up] has been upgraded and for going down only. As for the Paddock I passed by it and it look fine.

Have a nice day.

I know both peace & tranquility are there, just by looking at those beautiful places that you have managed to capture with your camera. I have been to Cameron Highlands but not Fraser Hill. Hope to visit this lovely place one day.

Temuk, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on the subject of this posting.

Yes it truly is a peaceful place so unlike Cameron Highland. Fraser Hill is just a holiday resort where there are no real shopping except of course for the souvenir shops.

I found many Japanese are making this place as their second homes since the weather is cool all the times. No need air-conditioning at all. I have always love this place for a relaxing holiday.

It is just one and half hours driving to get there. One can go via Kuala Kubu Baru or via Bentong, Except for some winding roads the journey would be a pleasant one. So now just pack and go and see for yourself this wonderful resort. It would be better if you go during the weekdays since there would be crowded on weekend.

Have a nice day.

This year alone i went to fraser hill twice to relax , but i do feel the public facilty there is a bit lacking.i do wish that there could be more attraction to attract the tourist but at the same time preserving the nature there.but please, not another genting or cameron highland

xplorer,Thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on the subject of this posting. I have visit FH many times and that includes during the colonial era. It was then very well kept with all the bungalows well maintained and use.

The was a well maintained Rest House there but it has since been demolished and new hotel taken its place. We would stay at the Rest House and enjoy the good foods and drinks there.

I still find this place is as enchanting as ever and like you I do not want it to be like another Genting or Cameron Highland where the business activities overtook the holiday aspects of the resort. I like the way it is. I even think allowing the building of those condos is a big mistake but it look like there are no real taker and that please would soon go to rots.

What I like them to do more is to plant more flowers or have a Rose Garden where folks could enjoy the flowers.

Anyway I sill love the place and would visit it more from now onward. Perhaps making it my second home.

Have a nice day.

Pak idrus , do you have photo on fraser hill during the colonial area , it would be great if you could share it with your reader .it must be dangerous back then as the area was infested with communist

xplorer, thanks for the return visit. No I do not have any photos of that place during the colonial era. Most of us could not afford a camera which is a luxury at that time. Only certain people could but not many and photo are only taken at the Photo Studio. But I believe there are photos on the Internet.

As for the Communist Insurgent it was OK to travel since the communist fighters does not attack ordinary folks. In the fifties with a group of friends I cycled from Kuantan to KL which took us 5 days one way and we knew that the communist are lurking in the forest along the Bentong roads but I think they did not want to waste their bullets on us kids, thus we are safe.

Have a nice day.
