Folks the best time during the fasting month is at the time of the breaking of the fast and surrounded by the kids. In any family this is the time where everyone would sit down together and sample the spread that had been prepared for the first meal of the day. The breaking of the fast start just as one hears the sound of the Azan for the Magrib prayer. It is not just about the eating but the culture of togetherness among the family members that made it such a wonderful moment in time.
In our home come the weekend; Friday and Saturday the grand kids and their mom and dad would come over and break the fast together. You get to see how the grand kids, the new generation of the twenty first century adept themselves to the norms and value of the society. The small tot began to practice the way of fasting just like we did when we were at their age. It was just like a flashback to the time when we had to break fast under the light of oil lamps and the food was much simpler then now. It does bring memories of those beautiful moments in our childhood. To me and my spouse it is one of the best moments in our lives. For folks in their golden age like us it is indeed a moment of joy and happiness. Have a nice day

Pak Idrus,
With so many members of the family breaking fast together, it is definitely an occassion to look forward to and to remember.
Selamat berbuka with all those delicacies spread on the table.
zawi, thanks for the visit and good words on the subject of this posting. Well it sure do when the kids are around. I believe extended families are very important for both the folks of the golden age and those kids as well.
Have a nice day.
Ah, family gathering. U either love it or hate it, right Pak? *smiles*
I remember one of the episodes in Grey's Anatomy that thanksgiving is the best time to work. It is when people go crazy during family reunion, hence more patients at A&E. *LOL*
As for me, I make sure that my girl eats together when I break fast, even if she is not fasting. It is all about bonding.
U keep well Pak!
ms b, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on this subject.
To me family gathering from time to time is good for bonding and it is fun. Other part of the family should not live together all the time. It if better if they have their our home and live a normal life with a visit from both side from time to time.
I am indeed glad that you already start to shower the love with your tot. It the bonding with love that made the differences.
Have a nice day.
Wow, look at the spread! Family that eats together stays together!

since my house and my parent inlaw house is just a 5 minutes drive, I've made it compulsory to iftar (buka puasa) with them everyday. A bigger number of people do create a better buka puasa atmosphere.

Assalamu'alaikum Pak Idrus
Bulan Ramadhan banyak barakahnya.
mamadou, thanks for the visit, the good words and sharing your thought on this amazing Ramadan. Indeed a wonderful event whenever we are surrounded by family members at buka puasa[iftar].
You are indeed lucky to be able to see the happening during Ramadan in foreign land. I believe this would give your good self a better understanding of the concept of Ramadan.
Have a nice day.
