Nasi Goreng..[fried rice]

This evening my spouse ask me whether I would like to have Nasi Goreng [fried rice]. I said yes and in the next instance she said that it is ready. Well she must have read my mind. I went to the kitchen and there I saw the fried rice on a beautiful white china. Ready to eat. She presented it very well indeed. It look great and tempting. As usual when food became a work of art, I decided to take a snap of it. About is the image of my dinner tonight. Perhaps this image would trigger your thought to do a Nasi Goreng for yourself today!!!.

Nasi Goreng to us Malaysian is a simple but complete food, in one go. It could be taken as a breakfast, lunch or dinner. Even at a buffet table this delicious helping of fried rice is available to everyone. No matter what the other spread on a buffet table are, the Nasi Goreng always get its due attention. For Malaysian of all walk of life love the Nasi Goreng. So for me this evening dinner is that sumptuous Nasi Goreng as displayed above. It look great and indeed it taste great too. Have a nice day.

salam pak idrus, been bloghopped from pak adib's place.

kudos to your wife who had garnished the nasi goreng in such a way. I am also impressed with her effort. Normally, people will only do this in their honeymoon time! afterthat it is rare to see that spouses treating each other just like the time when they first got married!

Hi Pak Idrus ... I am sleepless in Seattle at 2:30 AM and decided to blog-surf a little. I'm happy I did, as not only did I stumble upon a delicious plate of Nasi Goreng to drool over but a delightful blog to read. Your thoughts are optimistic, tranquil, positive and hope inspiring. :)

Is it true that the left over rice overnight is good to make nasi goreng the next morning?
Btw, my favourite is Thai nasi goreng.Chinese is second.

Pak Idrus,

When I was sailing as a young officer aboard a ship many years ago, I used to mosey down to the crew's galley at 4 in the morning to get a plateful of leftover rice and sambal. You can get very peckish during winter in the north Atlantic.

Breaking a raw egg into a pan sizzling with couple of tablespoonful of butter, I would put in the rice and sambal, add dollops of soya sauce and ketchup and my nasi goreng was most heavenly indeed ... perhaps not as good looking as yours.
