A Bowl of Fruits...

Fruits are part of our daily delight. It is the best source of nutrition for our daily needs. For that there is always a bowl of fruits in our kitchen. Above is a bowl of such fruits. During the fruits season in Malaysia that bowl would be full of tropical fruits. As for now we have imported fruits which are always 'in season' here. Globalization and trade and commerce have made it easy to get imported foods on our table everyday of the year. To keep us healthy especially in our golden years we have changes our diet with less meat but more Fish, Vegetables and Fruits. For meats we would go for white meats only but would still take red meat like beef or mutton at feast but we try to go for white meat if it is possible. We would go for Seafood only on special occasion. At the same time we would take more vegetables or fruits juices to get a balance diets. Been in the golden years we have to be careful of what we eat since our body resistance is not it used to be and the best way to stay health is to enjoy healthy foods.

Have a nice day. [Please click on image to enlarge]

I am not sure if fruits and vegetables are good any more. I fear the harmful chemicals used to keep vegetables without traces of insct bites, and fruit to last longer than normal. I am sure if my wife picks up vegetables from her gardens or papaya and mango from our own trees.

Well I do not know about that but where else I could get fruits that are not sold at the market place. The only fruits that we grow ourselves is Buah Nona and it truly delicious and I know there are no insecticide used. As for the imported one I do clean it before eating and hope that it does not cause me any harm. At this age I had to be careful about the food I ate; thus I go for fresh fruits and vegetable.

Thanks for reminding me. Have a nice day.

Assalamu'alaikum PAK IDRUS
It looks like you've been travelling quite a lot recently. How nice! I love to go to close-by places. Travelling to far-away places is so taxing to teh body now!

I love crunchy apples and pears. But, without their skin, please. Also fan the local pisang emas & pineapples. Have a nice day!

Temuk, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on the traveling. Yes I do travel from time to time but now I no longer drive myself when going long distance. Like you said at this age we get stressed up and it is not healthy to do so. When someone else is driving it is different; I could enjoy the trip and arrived fresh.

As for fruits I decided to take more fruits nowadays and in my search for what a good fruit to eat, I found that the Pear including the skin is good for the stomach; thus I take it for health reason. I love Pisang but found out that Pisang[Banana]is bad if one have gastritis, so I would avoid Pisang but do take it from time to time. But Pineapple is good for the stomach and I often use is in masak lemak or just take it raw. At this age we have to be very careful of what we ate.

Have a nice day and take take care.
