  4. Bustaman, Pokku thanks for the visit and the compliments.

Well, what else should I do at this age except to explore my hobby to the fullest. I did not have that opportunity or the mean to go into serious photography when I was much younger. For a simple reason was at that time the budget was more for living and education of the kids. So now in the golden age I am doing what I wanted most to pursue my hobby with the new toy. It is getting interesting and I am enjoying it.

    Have a nice day.

  5. Pak Idrus, congrats on getting the macro lens! I am jealous! :)

The cards are stacked against us Nikon D40 and D60 users in that if we want automatic focus lenses, we have to buy the AF-S or AF-I series, which are slightly dearer because they have motors in the lenses. (Our D40 and D60 camera bodies do not...)

My next lens acquisition, subject to successful negotiations with my Better Half, will be the 35mm f1.8 lens: http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Camera-Lenses/2183/AF-S-DX-NIKKOR-35mm-f%252F1.8G.html

Please keep up with your photography!

  6. Pak Idrus,
Got that wonder lens already? Way to go Pak!
I'm sure this is another thing you want to try with that wonderful barrel of yours. Get a portrait with it. With wide aperture of f/2.8, it will work like a charm isolating the subject from the background. You'll like it, trust me :)

The purist in photography might not agree with me but nowadays learning how to take good picture is only part of photography, learning how to edit your photo digitally is also part of photography.

I make a point not doctored the images that I took. I prefer to see what the lens captured as it is. The only editing I did is to blow it up or to resized it for presentation.

Photography is a work of art and everyone of us have different understand of the art. Appreciate your sharing of know how on the way of good photography.

  16. Keats The Sunshine Girl, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on Photography.

Yes like you it is only when I start blogging that rekindled my interest in photography. With the Macro Lens I am beginning to see a new world through the lens. In the past I thought only the professional could do that but now I know with some ingenuity everyone can take a good image especially that of a closed up in Macro Photography.

I am still learning and any tips would help and greatly appreciated.

    Have a nice day.
