  1. Salam, Pak Idrus! The tupai is so cute, with his pointy little face! The green spider is really gorgeous close-up. Aren't we lucky to live so close to nature? Thank you for reminding us of the beauty of nature through your amazing photographs!

  2. Covert_Operations'78, Ee Lynn thanks for the visit and the good words on this posting. As well sharing your thoughts on the need to be close to nature.

In that small space that I have I tried to create the environment and it works well now that the small animals and insect start enjoying my garden as well. We give it the environment and it enjoy coming for a visit. Its presence in a way made our lives so colorful.

    Have a nice day.

  3. Salam Pak Idrus,

You're using macro lense? Wow! I can't afford it yet. But there's a new set of lenses available now at much lower price. And off course, lesser quality can be expected from them too. I'm of 2 minds about buying them at RM600/-, but have been advised to by a photographer who had a look at my latest pics at Painting Pictures. Still, I do envy your ability to take those pics above; they're beautiful!

  4. cakapaje, Shah thanks for the visit and the compliment on my macro photography. Thanks as well for sharing your thought on this subject.

I did not use a macro lens but did it using the normal lens but at a closeup [the tulip on my Nikon D60]. My daughter who took photography as a subject of her Master/PhD program some years ago told me to just try that. And a professional photographer Steven [ http://explorenation.blogspot.com/ ] give me some hint of how to do a closeup and that's what I did. We all have to learn along the way and I am enjoying doing it.

    Have a nice day.

Your great effort. To so easy to capture moving animals in close up shot. BTW you manage to capture it beautifully.
    Patience is the essential

  6. mamadou, thanks for the greeting and the compliment on my photography.

Well like you said patience is the essential and I believe only at this age that I could do that. I have been feeding the squirrel for years and now it is a bit tame of sort and would stay to enjoy its meal. So I snap it from inside the house. As for that spider it has made its home near the fish pond, so it was easy.

Glad that you enjoy those images.

    Have a nice day.

The use of flash is usually frowned upon in taking pictures of animals but it is worth giving it a try. It might have shown the squirrel in greater detail and definition. As it is, it is a bit overwhelmed by the fronds. So we are not sure if the subject is the squirrel or the fronds. Just my duasen.

  9. Zaharan Razak, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on good photography. I normally avoid flash as it takes away the true color of the object. The Nikon D60 takes great images without the flash and I would continue to do that for artistic purposes. Thanks for the thought on this.

As for the object, I took the snap at some ten meters away, from the inside of my house and through the iron grill. I had to do that so that the object, that is the squirrel do not run away. I took many shots but I think this one is still the best shot that day. I have to try with the telephoto lens in future.

    Have a nice day.

  10. Wandere, thanks for the visit and the compliment on my kind of photography. I am still learning to do a better job of it and am enjoying it along the way.

As for the Nikon D60 it is indeed a good DSLR for beginner.

    Have a nice day.

  11. Pak Idrus,
Unlike me you made a good choice of buying the D60. From the pictures you have taken, the camera plus your sense of picture taking and skill have produced wonders. Great advice from professionals like SV Lee are invaluable indeed.

  12. Pak Zawi, thanks for the visit and the good words on my kind of photography.

I kind think that the person behind the camera made the difference and of course go on learning from the expert. I think the brand of camera is our choise. Anyway the pleasure is when the images came out great to me and to the viewer as well.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts as well. Have a nice day.
