I am on vacation...

Folks, we arrived back home yesterday July 26, at just past seven in the morning. The KLIA was shrouded with mist and it looks gray. We got out of the airport in a whiz and took a Limousine taxi back to our home in Ampang Jaya. Home sweet home. It was real nice to get back home. We were dead tired after that nineteen hours flight from Newark to Kuala Lumpur. It look like that we had to take a vacation to just take it easy after that wonderful holiday in the US. Like our good friend Louis from Seattle says, we do need a vacation after that vacation. How true. So folks I am taking a vacation starting from now. Have a nice day.

  1. Jet lag. I knew it had to be jet lag when I noticed on my computer that you had just logged on to Skype. After all, it was 1:00p Saturday here in Seattle, but of course it would be 4:00a Sunday in KL when everybody should be asleep in KL :).

I knew from your blog that you had arrived back in KL less than 24 hours earlier, and I guessed your body still was on NY time. I was tempted to call you, knowing well what it's like not to be able to sleep from jetlag when everyone else is asleep, but I couldn't bring myself to do that: What if my computer had mistakenly indicated you were online, as happens?

I was glad therefor when you called up just as I was grappling with those thoughts. Pleasant surprise.

Now that we have met in person, it no longer feels like we are talking from different worlds when we chat online, or that there's a whole ocean between us.

Meeting you and Asmah and Lin has been a real pleasure, Idrus.

  18. serenity, Serene thanks for the visit and the kind words.

Well, we are back home and as usual looking forward to the next one. It was indeed great meeting you after a lapse of some twenty years. And now we get to meet your other half as well. It was just like a dream come true for Auntie and me and thanks to you both we all had a great time.

It was that chance meeting at the airport some years ago between Lin and you that eventually lead to our gathering at that wonderful dinner that evening in Newark. It was just like a family gathering so warmth with love. Thanks for that sumptuous dinner.

We very much hope to see both of you again in the not too distance future.

    Have a nice day.

  19. welcome back, pak Idrus! a vacation after a vacation sounds heaven to me. i think one of the highlights of your trip to the US is to be able to connect with other bloggers from that part of the world (hello aunty rita!). but you were never short of interesting moment while there. whale-watching is definitely one. and the fact you traveled from one end to the other really speaks volume of your american adventure trail.

have a good rest. catch up with you soon.
