Well, it look like it runs in the family. After little Azib got his blog into cyberspere, his elder sister wanted to be a blogger as well and now without much ado she has become another blogger in the family. Here is her blog the PRINCESSADIBAH and I am sure you would agree with me that they both are good at arts. It look like artistic runs in the family. This elder sister is in formal school already. I am indeed glad they both blog for I always believed that blogging is one way of doing creative works which includes arts and writing. So folks we should encourage our young to blog. They have so much talents and it should be nurtured from an early age. Have a nice day.
Well done Azib & Princess Adibah!
ReplyDeleteI have grandchildren blogging too. I hope these kids will later bond like their grandpas.
pokku, thanks for the visit and the kind words on these kids blogger. Well, it is my hope that they would continue to blog and with times blogging would evolved into a powerful media like the TV today. With that the world of citizen journalists would be ever greater for democracy. Have a nice day.
ReplyDeletePak Idrus,
ReplyDeleteWe must congratulate these kids for their initiative and interest in using such modern instruments of communication. In fact I think in some ways they've surpassed even some highly educated, highly placed people in the country who are either ignorant or do not want to make use of these kinds of powerful tools. Note how often any electronic (or normal) communication to these people siting high up in offices or departments receive any response to even the simplest query; assuming the emails are even read in the first place.
So, my kudos to these kids and may they grow from strength to strength and absorb all the good that this world has to offer.
I also hope they appreciate how lucky they are to have ready access to such modernities to exercise their ever curious minds with. In many countries even having a pencil to write with is a luxury to some children, what more a computer.
For this, if I may be so bold, I would like to promote a book I came across here in the US. Its called "Three Cups of Tea," a story about an American mountaineer's quest to build schools, especially for girls, in the remotest and poorest parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Every book bought will mean 7% of the purchase price going towards a girl's education scholarship fund in those countries. There also many other ways suggested in the book as to how readers can play a part in helping the less fortunate.
But beyond that it is indeed a riveting story especially in this age when peoples of different faiths often view each other with such hostility. This American built fifty-five schools and the help he got came from such unexpected sources (and many of them were non-Muslims)it would restore your faith in humanity.
It’s an extremely inspiring and moving story of the selflessness, kindness and humanity of people like him and those who helped him. As well as an indictment on the failure of governments to do what they're duty bound and morally obliged to do. Just pray we in Malaysia will never have to come to that stage.
Thanks Pak Idrus. And may what you and millions of honest hardworking Malaysians wish for, come to pass this Saturday the 8th.
mr bojangles, thanks for the visit and the kind words on the kids blogging. Well it is their world and the ICT is the package that they came into. So I am glad that the are savvy at an early age. It is the kind of world that they would be living in.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for sharing your thoughts on the important of the Internet. As for that book and the contribution of those folks in trying to improve the quality of life of others in faraway land, it is indeed commendable and they should be supported. I would look for the book and sure I would get a copy.
Have a nice day.
