The squirrel having a feast...

There are many squirrels living in front and at the back of our house. I have been feeding the one in front of the house with cut apples and it would come and go after enjoying its meals, at time sharing it with the ants. The one that lives at the back of the house would have a field day on the fruits tree there. Often in the early morning I could see and hear the squirrels and birds enjoying their meals of fruits there. Indeed it's refreshing to see these animals and birds happy enjoying their morning meals care less of the happening around it; usually I would just watch and enjoy the cool morning breeze.

Just a few days ago while I was surfing the net and lost in cyberspace my spouse came over to me and say that there is a squirrel feeding on the ripe papaya at the back of the house. I went to have a look and sure enough there is one there enjoying its morning meal. Well, I thought that this would be a great chance to take a snap of it whiles in action. Not wanting to disturb it I took my camera and snap it from inside the kitchen and Voila!! I got it. Indeed a rare moment in time. An image of that squirrel having a great meal of that ripen papaya that is still clinging to the tree. Happy I am sharing it here with all to enjoy that moment in time; the squirrel and the papaya. Folks that wonderful scene does color my day.

Have a nice day.

kama, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on the subject of this posting.

Hey! wait a minutes and do not get carried away. Like you I love the kampong where I grew up but at the same time I got hooked to fine living in the first world. So what do I do, I want to live in both world. So why not "kills two birds with a stone"..So the best thing to do is to turn my humble single story terrace into a kampong house of a sort with the luxury of a four star hotel. That is what I did and I live just four minutes away from the KLCC, my favorite lepak place. Drop in for a cup-pa and see my pondok of sorts.

A friend blogger did a write up of my place. Read this http://mohdzawi.blogspot.com/2007/12/kampong-home-in-ampang-jaya.html.

Have a nice day.

I may live in a flat but thankfully the parks are just minutes away. Last weekend the lil one insisted on buying nuts and we went to kensington gardens to feed the squirrels. Yesterday, the nanny took her (it is school break for this week).

But the squirrels here are pretty fussy. they just want plain nuts.

ms b, thanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts on this subject.

I found that the squirrels in the US are very friendly and often come forward for food. At a picnic stop once they swamp the ground and we had to shoo it out. Here in Malaysia it so afraid of our species. The one in front of my house that I fed with apple only come out when I am not around. I hope eventually these animals near my home would be friendly like their cousin in the west.

Great to see you little one enjoy the outdoor and loves animals. That's the way to go.

Have a nice day.

Well blogging seem to be second nature to you. You could write about just anything. Behind my house there is this wild jambu batu tree with ripe red jambu.Every morning I could see few species of bird enjoying the ripe jambu. The branches spread right across to the kitchen window. We thought of cutting it down. But did nothing to it cause that might stop the the bird from coming.

That's a nice posting you have here. Have a nice day.

PakIdrus,
This is nothing to do with the squirrel.
I'd like to thank you and Kak A for ole-ole you sent through Hamdan.
Thank you for thinking of us here.

changgeh, Alias thanks for the visit and the kind words on my kind of blogging.

Well, as you can see I did enjoy doing that. What better way to do in the golden age but to share one's knowledge and experiences with the world.

You did a smart thing by not cutting that tree, animals has a habit of not wanting its habitat disturb and if disturbed it would find other places and you would not be able to enjoy its presence anymore.

I live not that far from the city center so the happening like that squirrel is special as we did not get to see it everyday. It was indeed a wonderful moment in time to be able to capture that scene.

Have a nice day.

anasalwa, Siti thanks for the visit.

Well that kueh raya is just a way of saying thank you in the spirit of friendship. How I wished I could send more but it would not be fair to Hamdam.

I am indeed glad that Hamdam came over and enjoy the raya with us.

Have a nice day.

Pak Idrus,
I doubt there are many people out there can enjoy the nature like you do; moreover when you are living in city.
Highly populated areas aren't usually the place where animals would go to look for food, counting out several types. But looks like the animal are quite comfortable with your place; and you may enjoy their presence.
I know you need not me saying this, (and perhaps I should keep this one to myself), but just keep your posting coming ya :)
Have a nice day.

akmal, thanks for the visit and the kind words.

For wanting to live in the city and as well get that wonderful kampong environments one had to adapt. That's what I did and coexist with the other species that made our planet such a wonderful place to live and enjoy life. Every happening, like that episode of the squirrels do made my life so colorful and I am enjoying it.

As for blogging, sure I would continue to blog the way I know best.

Have a nice day.

Hi Pak Idrus,

To be able to live close to nature is certainly a blessing. I can just imagine the sheer tranquility within your living compound. But, like what Ms B, said, even if anyone were to live in apartments or condos, well, one can still go to the parks for such similar joy.

Great shots catching the squirrel in action Pak Idrus..he he.

Dear PI,

I think such moments are simply beautiful and you have captured them digitally.

Those pics reminds me of a younger me competing with squirrels over cempedaks and wild pineapples. Thats how I acquired the preference for young/unripe pineapples!

Have a nice day.

ruby thanks for the visit and sharing your thought on the way to live.

Well, living in the concrete jungle, we have to create the green environment. The greens we have to add it ourselves. We did it so that it blended with the house and now the other species come and go enjoying the environment that is friendly to it. In the process we get to watch these beautiful creature from time to time.

That image is just a chance encounter and thanks to the camera I got to immortalized it and share it with others to enjoy that moment in time.

Have a nice day.

all-in-one, thanks for the visit and the kind words on this posting as well sharing your thoughts on those wonderful moment of your youth.

Those are memories that we all cherished and nostalgics about it. Like your experiences. once you have a taste of the real one, like that nenas grown on good soil, we would treasured that taste forever and for that matter know very well what such taste is like. We remember that great time.

As for that images It is just one of those days that we get that chance to take such snap. I was there at the right moment in time, so voilà! I got it, thanks to one of the greatest invention of man, the camera.

Much like I enjoyed taking that image at that moment in time, I believe those who get to see these images would enjoy it as well.

Have a nice day.
