September eleven...

Lest we forget, this date change the course of our world history...Have we learn anything since then...It look like the American learn very little indeed...Look at Katrina that just happen...They just do not seem to be able to cope with another attack...The Old saying that if it happen once it is OK but if it happen twice, then it could happen again...I hope that America and the world at large would learn from these happenings, that how strong a nation is , it should always learn from the past....Anyway Let us remember this day and remind ourselves that our species has got lots to learn about living together and understand the real meaning of humanity...Prayers to all those that lost their lives in the defend of freedom wherever they are and sympathy to those that had to suffered all those years.. Let us all move forward and make this world of our a better place to live and enjoy life... Take care.

I like your blog very much. You are creative and perceptive in much that you say. I don't understand, however, when you say that America seems to have learned very little from September 11, 2001 and that Katrina proves your point. A huge powerful hurricane is a force of nature and has almost nothing in common with human beings who are determined to cause harm. It does matter what causes the harm because how you react and what you do to recover will be very different. In one case, it was an act of murderous warriors. In the other, it was an unfortunate event of nature. Dealing with many feet of water and all the difficult politicians made recovering from Katrina a completely different occurrence than 9/11.

aup, thanks for your comments, greatly appreciated..I was thinking that from the lesson learned of Sept.eleven, they would react fast and not waited a week before helping those victim of Katrina and also with the information they have had years before this happening in New Orleans, they could have prevented such disaster....Personally I am concerned with the lost of lives and properties...thanks.

Thanks for your reply, Pak. The thing is, they did not wait a week. The mayor didn't use the schoolbuses for those without cars but, even so, the national guard was there by Tuesday after Katrina on Sunday and the levees broke on Monday. Since the mayor and governor refused to make an official request for federal help, and it would have been illegal to send troops without an official request, what else could they have done? As it was, they were there in 36 hours, not a week! It was horrible but there were hundreds of thousands of people to move.
